Dr. T.F. Lee

B.Sc.(Hons.), M.C.Optom.(UK), O.D.

Dr. Lee has trained on three continents: Asia, Europe, and North America.  Starting as an apprentice in his family optical business, he performed refractions while still in high school.  In 1982, he completed his optometry degree with honours from The City University in London, England.  Continuing his training in contact lens practice, he worked as an optometric consultant in numerous private offices.  He immigrated to Canada in 1989 and worked with the Grenfell Mission in St. Anthony, Newfoundland, a local hospital that serves northern Newfoundland and all of Labrador.  He flew to local coastal regions to perform eye examinations in adverse conditions with basic instrumentation.  This has enhanced his skills today with any pediatric and geriatric patients who are non-communicative and who do not fit well with modern instrumentation.

Dr. Lee spent a further two years in the University of Waterloo, Canada, and obtained his Doctor of Optometry degree.  He has passed his licensing exams in England, Newfoundland, Ontario, and British Columbia.  Currently he practices in Burnaby, BC.

Dr. Lee is originally from Malaysia and has lived in BC for the last 28 years where he met his wife, Dr. Sharon Wu.  His interest outside of optometry includes a B.A.(Hons.) in Theology.  He is fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Malay, Hakka, and Hokkien.

Dr. Sharon Wu

B.Sc., O.D.

Dr. Wu was born and raised in Vancouver, BC.  She completed two years of the professional Pharmacy program at the University of British Columbia before she transferred to Pacific University College of Optometry in Oregon and obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree with Distinction.  During her time at Pacific, she received specialized training in the treatment and management of ocular disease, vision therapy, and contact lens practice.  She also spent time at Teplick Vision, a laser surgery center in Beaverton, Oregon, where she performed pre- and post-operative examinations and co-managed laser refractive surgery patients.

Dr. Wu is currently licensed to practice optometry in Oregon, Washington, and BC.  She has appeared on Chinese TV talk shows to describe the benefits of orthokeratology.  She speaks fluent English, Cantonese and Mandarin.  When she is not at the office, she enjoys Pilates, reading, and traveling.

Our Philosophy

Vision is more than eyesight.  We trust our eyes more than any of our other senses.  In most cases, what we see is our only perception of reality and it directs all our actions, beliefs and judgement.

In our office, we try to achieve beyond 20/20.  The eyes are even more intricate than the most complex camera system.  Due to its integration with the other human senses in the brain, we believe that only a holistic approach can provide the best vision care.  Proper nutrition, healthy lifestyle, correct posture and visual hygiene are the basis for good vision and healthy eyes.
